Community Guidelines & Standards

Last updated: August 7, 2025

Fostering a safe, respectful, and empowering space for all women-loving-women is our top priority. These Community Guidelines — alongside our Terms of Use — outline the standards we expect every member of TSL to follow.

We encourage all users to report content or behavior that violates these rules. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward hate, harassment, or any action that undermines the integrity of this community. Violations may result in content removal or permanent account suspension.

Be Respectful

Engaging in hate speech or discriminatory behavior will result in immediate removal. This includes:

  • Racism
  • Transphobia (including trans-exclusionary language or fetishization)
  • Biphobia, fatphobia, ableism, or sexism
  • Religious discrimination
  • Harassment, bullying, or microaggressions

If you are discussing sensitive or potentially triggering topics, please include a content warning.

Be Empathetic

TSL is home to a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. You don’t have to agree with everyone — but empathy, patience, and openness are expected.

User Preferences & Inclusivity

TSL welcomes all women-loving-women — including cis women, trans women, and non-binary sapphics. We do not block users based on gender identity. Every WLW-identifying person in good faith is welcome.

At the same time, every user has the right to control their own dating experience. TSL provides tools to personalize your match feed — including the ability to filter by identity or preferences. This is about autonomy, not exclusion.

You may choose to connect only with cis women, only with trans women, or with everyone. But these tools must never be used to shame, target, or harass others. Disrespectful use of filters or identity-based targeting will result in moderation.

Inclusivity means all sapphic individuals are protected, and everyone deserves safety and control over their dating experience.

No Solicitation

To protect all users, we do not allow the sale or promotion of goods, services, paid events, fundraising, or requests for money of any kind.

Be Original

Please use your own words and images. If you quote or share someone else’s work, credit them appropriately.

Be Yourself

Do not impersonate others or create fake, scam, or catfish accounts. Lying about your identity or age (you must be 18+) will result in a permanent ban.

Be Honest

Be truthful about what you share on TSL — including in posts, bios, and messages. Do not spread misinformation or knowingly deceive others.

Follow the Law

Illegal activity is not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, fraud, threats, explicit content involving minors, or promotion of violence. We will report violations to the appropriate authorities when necessary.

Suicide & Self-Harm Guidelines

The wellbeing of our users is a top priority. We do not allow content that depicts, glorifies, or encourages suicide or self-harm.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact emergency services or a mental health professional in your area. If you see content related to self-harm, report it — we will reach out to the user and take steps to support them. In serious cases, we may contact authorities.

TSL Photo Guidelines

When uploading photos to TSL, you must follow these rules:

  • No nudity or sexually explicit content
  • No images of minors (even in the background)
  • No weapons, violence, or illegal content
  • No stolen or AI-generated photos claiming to be you
  • All profile photos must comply with TSL’s Terms of Use

If you see a photo that violates these rules, report it via the app or email us at admin@thesapphiclibrary.com.
